HISTORY

St Teresa's Girls' Secondary School is on a 10 acre piece of land.It is in Kithimu location, Nembure Education Division, Embu District. It is approximately 15 Kilometres from Embu Town.

The School opened its doors for learning on 5th march, 1979 with 11 girls and 2 teachers.It was started on Harambee basis.

Today it is a large double stream Provincial school with a population of 360 girls.

 

SPONSORSHIP

The School is sponsored by the Catholic Church.It is managed by a board of governors and supported financially by the parents,(P.T.A).

DISCIPLINE

For all the years, the school has never had a case of mass indiscipline.The principal, Discipline Mistress and other teachers, deal with individual indiscipline caseses as they arise.

The school has put in place a strong guidance and counselling Programme in which all teachers sre involved in the advising, directing ,guiding and counseling of students.This has been effective in checking indiscipline.

The operating Committees in the school that check on discipline are Discipline committee, Academic Standards committee and the Guidance and counselling committee.
